Ms Farrar brings over 16 years of multi-lingual project and program management experience in an international context, including in post-conflict situations. She has been self-employed since 2010 through her consulting company, Oxford PMO Ltd., with main contracts with Stanford University and the Open Society Foundations. She has worked as project manager for international organisations in Macedonia (Feb 02–Jan 03), Rwanda (Aug 99–Jun 00), Nagorno-Karabakh, Azerbaijan (Mar 98–May 99), St Petersburg (Russia) (Nov 97–Mar 98); and Banja Luka, Bosnia (Sept 96–Oct 97). She has also worked in numerous European countries including Switzerland and the United Kingdom. She has extensive knowledge of project planning and scheduling, and project management processes and techniques. Solid budget and financial management experience, including grant and contract management, is underpinned by significant personnel and team management exposure. She has been self-employed since 2010 through her consulting company, OSPM Ltd., and has worked on contracts with Stanford University, Open Society Foundations, and Worcestershire County Council. Prior to this, Ms Farrar was a scientific Project Manager at Oxford University. Penny Farrar’s background is in engineering (B-Eng) and subsequently worked in the international Non-Governmental Sector. She also holds a MA in International Relations from the Brussels School of International Studies of the University of Kent. She is active in the PMI UK Chapter and has set up a new Chapter group in Oxford (UK), which regularly brings together project management professionals, students and speakers.
